Contains reports and notes relating to Retriever Athletics, the Retriever Activity Center (RAC), UMBC's first NCAA Division I certification and recertification processes, Steering committee meeting agendas, annual reports (1996-2008), Board of Regents Reports (1998-2006), and DVDs of the university's basketball (men) and lacrosse (men) games.

Administrative/Biographical Note

Soccer was UMBC's first intercollegiate sport in 1966. UMBC's Athletics became a NCAA Division I team in 1985. The Retriever Athletic Center (RAC) was constructed in 1999. Richard Mentzer was the first director of athletics from 1966-1968, followed by E. Richard Watts, Jr. (1968-1985), Rick Hartzell (1985-1989), Charlie Brown (1989-2013), and Tim Hall (2013-present).
