In 1895, Kodak&#8217;s Pocket camera expanded the world of photography. Significantly smaller and lighter, with film cartridges instead of glass plate holders, Pockets offered the casual photographer unprecedented portability. Kodak&#8217;s new roll-film cartridge also saved amateur and novice photographers a trip to the darkroom\u2014allowing them to load film in the day time.
