Allen film and videotape collection, Center for Biological Sciences Archives, Collection 17, Special Collections, University of Maryland, Baltimore County (Baltimore, MD).<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"biography\">Administrative\/Biographical Note<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">R.D. &#8220;Bob&#8221; Allen (1927-1986) was a professor of biology at Dartmouth College, the founder of the journal &#8220;Cell Motility and the Cytoskeleton&#8221; (renamed &#8220;Cytoskeleton&#8221; in 2010), and leader in the field of cell motility, cytomechanics, and the developing use of video microscopy and optics in scientific research. Allen died in his home in New Hampshire, March 23, 1986, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"scope\">Scope &#038; Content<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By format, then either by date\/author or topic.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"provenance\">Provenance Information<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Originally located at Dartmouth University, the collection was donated to the American Society of Cell Biology in 1999; they immediately donated the holdings to UMBC.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Collection unprocessed.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"access\">Access &#038; Use<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No restrictions.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reproductions allowed for research purposes.
