Voirrey Irving and the family’s dog, Mona. A sample of Gef’s hair underwent tests and was revealed to actually belong to Mona. However, she maintained that Gef was not her creation up until her death in 2005.
Handwritten in pen on the back: “VI. Voirrey Irving and Mona at the gate on which Gef is being photographed.”
