By the 1960s, roll film cameras still deterred mass photography because unloading and reloading film was sometimes a hassle—and if not properly done could damage the image. Kodak introduced Kodapak film cartridges with the Instamatic cameras in 1963. This new “Drop in Loading” made photography even more accessible to the amateur photographer. Loading and unloading film was now safer, easier, and faster.
