Charles Stanton Hill’s Thumbprints

Two fingerprints side by side. The left fingerprint is labeled "ANTE MORTEM 1928," and the right fingerprint is labeled "POST MORTEM 1930." Text at the bottom reads: "CHARLES STANTON HILL'S RIGHT THUMB PRINT. THE MARGERY MEDIUMSHIP."

This image shows the thumbprint of Judge Charles Stanton Hill before and after his death. The post-mortem print was allegedly created during a séance held by Margery Crandon.
According to an article by Fodor, Judge Hill was a supporter of Crandon and frequently sat for her séances, where all sitters would have their prints taken. During a sitting held six weeks after his death, a “phantom thumb was seen making three imprints” in wax. A fingerprint expert subsequently examined the prints and concluded that they perfectly matched those of Judge Hill.
