Margery Crandon

Mina “Margery” Crandon (1888-1941) was a medium who claimed to channel her late brother, Walter Stinson. She was the subject of public controversy and skepticism, especially from magician Harry Houdini, who attempted to expose her for feigning psychical abilities. She nonetheless had many supporters, including prominent figures like Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Sir Oliver Lodge. The debate over her authenticity led to bitter feuds within the parapsychological community.
