This image shows the thumbprint of Judge Charles Stanton Hill before and after his death. The post-mortem print was allegedly created during a séance held by Margery Crandon.
According to an article by Fodor, Judge Hill was a supporter of Crandon and frequently sat for her séances, where all sitters would have their prints taken. During a sitting held six weeks after his death, a “phantom thumb was seen making three imprints” in wax. A fingerprint expert subsequently examined the prints and concluded that they perfectly matched those of Judge Hill.
