From our first chancellor, Albin O. Kuhn, to our current president, Freeman Hrabowski, UMBC has been fortunate to have such visionary leaders. In just fifty years, we have come from a small upstart commuter school to being one of the best universities for undergraduate teaching (per U.S. News & World Report) and a leading innovator in higher education.
