UMBC students have been actively involved in publishing since the very beginning of the school. Student newspapers have reported student and campus life as UMBC continued to grow. They have served as  key community resources throughout UMBC’s history and the historical volumes continue to be valuable documents for campus historians and alumni.

In addition to news reporting and commentary, students have published their literary and creative arts talents in print.  Literary magazines that feature poetry, fiction, and artwork by UMBC faculty and students were realized in venues such as Dialogue and Bartleby
