Governor Marvin Mandel in the form of transcripts from his 1977 trial. Mandel was
found guilty of mail fraud and racketeering relating to his opposition to increased
horse racing regulation in 1972.

Administrative/Biographical Note
Marvin Mandel was the 56th Governor of Maryland, serving from 1969-1979. He was also
a delegate as well as the Speaker of the Maryland House of Delegates. Mandel is a
member of the Democratic Party and the first Jewish Governor of Maryland.
