Administrative/Biographical Note
Philip Vorhees (1792-1862) was a US Naval officer who served in the War of 1812 and commanded the East India Squadron. He was Commodore of the U. S. Sloop of War Plymouth from 1850-1851. He spent the end of his life and died in Annapolis, MD.
