Administrative/Biographical Note

Stephen Tall was the pen name of Compton Crook, a biology professor at Towson University. From donor letter: “He wrote many science-fiction short stories…The Baltimore Science-Fiction Society had a close relationship with [Compton Crook] and after his death, began giving the Compton Crook/Stephen Tall award each year for the best first novel.”
