Administrative/Biographical Note
Established in 1925, ATCC is a private, nonprofit biotechnology organization. It serves as a repository for microorganism cultures, as well as a global leader in biotechnology research. ATCC is involved in collecting and distributing cell lines and other research materials.

Provenance Information
SARCV 1995-15, SARCV 1996-11, SARCV 1997-07, SARCV 1997-23, SARCV 1998-04, SARCV 1998-05; Catalogs, newsletters, and a book were transferred to the archives by ATCC in 1995 and accessioned by Marcia Peri in 1998. Dr. Robert Stevenson deposited 1 cubic foot of A/V material, papers, and reports of the NIH Cancer Virus Program in 1996 which were accessioned by John Beck in 1997. ASM donated further A/V materials in 1997 which are stored with the ATCC collection. Three smaller donations consisting mostly of publications were accessioned in 1997 and 1998.
