Printing
Where can I print?
- You can print from any of our computers (except when booted as Linux).
- You can print from any laptop or mobile device using Pharos MobilePrint.
- You must release and pick up the print job on the 1st, 2nd, or 7th floor, or in the RLC.
How much does it cost?
- Black and white: $0.10 per side
- Color: $0.70 per side
How do I pay?
- UMBC Campus ID card
Add more money online using a credit card or add cash on the main floor of the Commons at the Campus Information Center

Scanning
The library currently has 5 free, self-service scanners in the Reference Department. There are also 4 scanners in the Mac area on the 2nd floor near Serials.
- Scan color or black & white images in multiple formats (.jpg, .png, .tiff)
- Scan text in Word (.docx) or .pdf formats
- Simple instructions available at each scanner -- no experience necessary
- Save file to flash drive, email it, or send to your Google Drive
Microfilm Readers - Room 216
Important: These scanners cannot scan non-microfilm media.
Microfilm Readers are available on the second floor, near the Honors College Room 216L. We have one ScanPro 2000, two Canon 300 Microfilm Scanners (automatic loading) and one Canon 500 Microfilm Scanner (manual loading). Videos for using the microfilm readers can be found below.
These stations have printing capabilities as well as the option to save your microfilm pages to a USB flash drive. The ScanPro 2000 also has email capabilities. Instructions for use are available next to each machine.
