SARCV 1996-21, SARCV 2008-06 (interfiled 12/18/2008); SDB chose UMBC as the site to
house their archives in 1995 and transferred the first 31 boxes of records in 1996
along with funds to assist in the initial processing. In 2008 they deposited another
2.5 linear feet that was interfiled with the first accession.
The collection was arranged by graduate assistant Amy Ciesielski, under the supervision
of Special Collections Archivist Lindsey Loeper, in the fall of 2008. The arrangement
of materials was determined by subject, using the previously created subject list
and box inventory. The numbers in parentheses refer to the original box and folder
number assigned during the item level inventory. Both the inventory and subject list
PDFs can be searched for specific folder numbers to view a complete list of items
within folder, and the subjects included. Contact Special Collections to access the
inventory and subject lists. Within individual series and subseries, materials are
organized chronologically at the folder level. Most of the boxes contained little
to no organization when donated, making original order unavailable. All materials
remain in their original folders, except when the folder was damaged, and item arrangement
within each folder was maintained. While folders are grouped by subject, some folders
contain other materials relating to different topics. Judgments on placement were
made based on the topic that contained the most materials within each folder. This
topic discrepancy makes the searchable PDF subject and inventory lists useful. The
folder level arrangement was completed to increase access to the collection in preparation
for the Society's 70th anniversary in 2009. Further arrangement may be completed in
