Provenance Information

Provenance and Acquisition Information

Records in the UMBC historic documents collection were collected over time. The collection was originally formed as part of a “UMBC Origins” series, but was reorganized in Spring 2013 by Graduate Assistant Johanna Schein under the guidance of University Archivist Lindsey Loeper. This collection consists of both original documents and photocopies. In April 2013, archivists identified select records from the University Archives that were significant to the establishment and running of the University. These documents were then photocopied and included in the collection. Document removal forms were included with the photocopies in order to note where the original documents can be found. More documents will be added to this collection as they are identified.

Processing Note

This is an artifical collection created by staff in the Special Collections department. The collection was originally formed as part of a “UMBC Origins” series, but was reorganized in Spring 2013 by Graduate Assistant Johanna Schein under the guidance of Archivist Lindsey Loeper.
