Theses and Dissertations

Information on preparing your thesis and dissertation and submitting it to Proquest is available from the Graduate school. DSS automatically receives all UMBC thesis and dissertations submitted to Proquest and loads them into ScholarWorks@UMBC. There is usually a one to two year delay after submission to Proquest before it appears in ScholarWorks. Your document will only be freely available world-wide if you’ve selected “I authorize access” on Thesis and Dissertation Electronic Publication Form. If you’ve selected “I request that UMBC embargo,” your document will only appear after the embargo period has ended. If you didn’t fill out a Thesis and Dissertation Electronic Publication Form, your document is not accessible, but if you complete the form now, and email it to DSS (, we’ll make it available.
