Administrative/Biographical Note
Dr. John Starr founded the Geography program at UMBC in 1967 and taught at the university
for 29 years. He served as chair of the Geography Department from 1967-1981, and as
Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs from 1985-1990. He retired in 1996.

rehousing.
Processing Note
Collection unprocessed. A significant amount of photocopied published material was
removed, and the rest of the collection rehoused, in March 2016.
