Dr. John Starr founded the Geography program at UMBC in 1967 and taught at the university
for 29 years. He served as chair of the Geography Department from 1967-1981, and as
Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs from 1985-1990. He retired in 1996.
Materials transferred from Geography Department in 1998. Accessions: UARC 1998-20.
This accession was originally listed as 4 boxes, but a fifth box was located during
Collection unprocessed. A significant amount of photocopied published material was
removed, and the rest of the collection rehoused, in March 2016.
