Administrative/Biographical Note
The Ethnomusicology program at UMBC was a part of the Department of Music, offering
M.A. and Ph.D. degrees. The program was eliminated at UMBC in 1994 by the Board of
Regents as a cost saving measure; the last graduate class offered as part of the Ethnomusicology
graduate program was Spring 1998.

Collection unprocessed. University publications related to the Music Department are
available under call number UPUB M4; the Ethnomusicology program was a subset of the
