The Ethnomusicology program at UMBC was a part of the Department of Music, offering
M.A. and Ph.D. degrees. The program was eliminated at UMBC in 1994 by the Board of
Regents as a cost saving measure; the last graduate class offered as part of the Ethnomusicology
graduate program was Spring 1998.
Materials transferred from the Ethnomusicology Program in 1998 and 2003. Accessions:
UARC 1998-15, UARC 2003-12.
Collection unprocessed. University publications related to the Music Department are
available under call number UPUB M4; the Ethnomusicology program was a subset of the
Music Department. Additional performing arts records are available in the Visual and
Performing Arts records.
