Administrative/Biographical Note
Lizette Woodworth Reese (1856-1935) was a poet from Huntingdon (Waverly), Maryland.
She spent her life in Baltimore, and was named Maryland's poet laureate in 1931. Reese
co-founded the Women's Literary Club of Baltimore, was a member of the Edgar Allan
Poe Society of Baltimore, and also received an honorary doctorate from Goucher College.
